What items will you not sell? Which items will you sell?

I will NOT sell any racist, sexist, pro-choice, or any illegal items. Also some items are prohibited and/or restricted on ebay. Prohibited are not allowed to be sold at all. Restricted items are allowed to be sold when certain guidelines are followed. I WILL sell just about anything. I know that all people are different and we all have our own tastes. I value that diversity. I will also sell “adult only” material.

Who determines the opening bid for my items?

You may choose to open with any bid amount you wish. Just keep in mind these two important factors:

1.      The insertion fee charged by eBay is calculated on the opening bid amount. Higher the starting bid the higher the listing fee.

2.      More interest will be drawn to your auction with a lower opening bid amount. Often the lower opening bid amount brings a higher winning bid.

3.      Do not have a lower opening bid (without a reserve) than you are willing to accept for your item.

What services does my commission include?

·         Free Initial Consultation

·         Research and reporting of comparative selling prices on similar items on ebay (if available)

·         Item pickup in same and some neighboring cities as my home

·         Complete inventory of items to be sold

·         Digital photography of items and image editing

·         Detailed item descriptions and multiple photos

·         Uploading and online storage or images for the duration of your auction

·         HTML enhanced auction listings

·         Handle all correspondence with potential buyers

·         Post-auction buyer invoicing and payments

·         Packaging and shipping of sold items

·         I sell and ship worldwide – to gain maximum exposure of your item

When do I pay the listing fees?

The cost for the listing and other associated fees are deducted from the winning bidder's payment if the item sells.

For example: I sold your necklace for $75.00. The eBay fees were $4.95 and my commission is $22.50.

I will give you a payment for $47.55along with my detailed statement.

If the item does not sell you can pay me for the listing fee when you receive your item back.

Do you have to take possession of my stuff?

The item can be held at my place or at yours. Once the item sells I need to take possession of the item as soon as possible to ensure that the item is shipped in a timely manner.

How do I get my items to you?

If you live in my city or in some of the surrounding cities I will come and pick them up or you can drop them off at my home. If you live further away you may drop them off or mail them to me.

How long does it take to list my items after you receive them?

I should have your items listed within a day or two after receiving them. If I expect it to take longer than a day or two I will let you know. I run my auctions to start and end on certain days of the week and certain time of the day that I have found to be more successful.

How long does the auction run?

Auctions can run for 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10 days. I normally run mine for 7, as there is a small extra charge from eBay for the 10 day duration. More valuable or more rare items I may want to list for 10 days. See the eBay Fees section for details.

Do I HAVE to sell my item even for a low price?

If you are concerned that your item may not reach an amount that you will be happy to sell it for you may request that a “reserve” be placed on the auction. If the bidding does not meet this “reserve” then you do NOT have to sell your item. However, you must still pay for the eBay fees incurred for listing the item. You could also have a starting bid at the lowest price you would accept for your item. A lot of people don't like to bid on reserve auctions so I prefer to start the auction at the lowest you would accept.

When & How do I get paid?

I will pay you after both the buyer has paid for the item and I have taken possession of the item. I will mail or hand to you in person the payment along with a detailed statement showing all fees and deductions. If the item has already been paid for and I am picking the item up from you I will hand payment to you. If I already have the item and then I receive payment from the buyer I will mail payment to you. I can pay you with cash or personal check. Or if you prefer I can send you payment through Paypal.

When & How are items shipped to the high bidder?

I allow 7 days to receive the high bidders payment unless I have heard from the buyer otherwise. I do not ship the item until payment has been received. I also give the high bidder several shipping options. I ship the item US Postal Service through media mail, first class, parcel post, priority, or express. I also ship world wide in a variety of methods. I give them the rates on the auction-listing page. I also allow pick up from my home.

Who pays for shipping?

The high bidder pays for all shipping and related costs. I state these charges on the auction web page. None of these costs are passed to you and are NOT deducted from the monies you are to receive.

What if the buyer receives the item damaged?

I make every effort to pack and ship items carefully. The high bidder also has the option of purchasing insurance on the item(s). If you have an idea of the best way to package a certain item please do tell me. Or if the item has a weak spot that needs more carefully packaged.

What if my item doesn’t sell?

If your item doesn’t sell after the first auction you have the choice of taking the item back and paying the eBay fees, or you can re-list it. On the re-listing we can discuss any adjustments that could help increase bids. I can also put the item in my eBay store where it can sit for long periods of time (think weeks to months) at a buy it now price if regular auction style fails.

What if the high bidder doesn’t pay?

If the high bidder does not pay, the item can be offered to the next highest bidder or we can re-list the item. eBay will refund the fees on auctions won by a non-paying bidder.

What if the buyer wants to return the item?

I allow a 3-day inspection period by the high bidder after they have received the item. They must notify me within these 3 days that they are not satisfied and want to return the item. This is only allowed if the item is not as described. They are to return it to me in the same condition and at their own expense. I will refund them the purchase price (less shipping) after I have received the item back and have verified its condition. You may still be out of pocket some eBay and paypal fees. I will not charge you commission on returned items. You then have the option to keep your item or to re-list it.

What are the charges for listing my items?

Trading Assistant Fees:

30% of final value on most items. 10% on vehicles.

eBay Fees:

I charge only the exact eBay fees that I incur from eBay for listing your item. There is always a non-refundable Listing Fee for listing your item on eBay. There may also be Promotional or Reserve Price Fees if we choose to use these features on your auction. If you item sells there will also be a Final Value Fee charged by eBay. Ebay also sometimes adjusts their fees higher or lower. I try to keep up with these adjustments in this paperwork but sometimes they slip them past me.

Paypal Fees: If the winning bidder chooses to make a fast online payment for your item, they may do so through Paypal. However, Paypal charges $0.30US + 2.9% of the payment amount for each payment.

Breakdown of eBay fees:

Insertion Fees vary by the type of listing:

Regular Listings

·         The Listing Fee is based on the starting price for your item.

Reserve Price Auction Listings

·         The Listing Fee is based on the reserve price of the item you list for sale.

·         When you list a Reserve Price, you will also be charged small fee for that service, which is also based upon the price.

Multiple Item Listings (Dutch Auctions and Multiple Quantity Fixed Price)

·         The Insertion Fee is based upon the opening value of the items you list for sale. The opening value is the starting price or the fixed item price multiplied by the quantity of items you offer. The maximum insertion fee for any Multiple-Item Listing is US$3.30 if you list your item in US dollars.

Ebay Motors has their own fee costs that are different from the general eBay fees.
